2. Where is the venue?
- The venue is The Cathedral Peak Hotel in The Drakensberg of South Africacathedralpeak.co.za.
- Distances From:
- Johannesburg: approximately 400km (4.5 hours)
- Durban: approximately 250km (2.5 hours)
- Nearest Airports:
- Pietermaritzburg: approximately 180km (2 hours)
- Ladysmith: approximately 90km (1 hour)

- Roads are tarred all the way but please note the last 20km of this road is full of twists and turns & slow speed is recommended.
3. Is there group transport arranged?
- Due to the number of requests for transport we will be arranging a bus from Johannesburg to Cathedral Peak Hotel and back.
- Passengers will be required to pay +/-R1000 for the return trip.
- The bus will depart from Johannesburg at 8am on Friday 29Nov and will leave Cathedral Peak at 10am on Sunday 1Dec.
- Passengers will be required to state on the RSVP form additional notes, or indicate via
WhatsApp at +447911750454 or email info@zhowela.com in order to book a seat on the bus. - Finer details will be provided in the days to follow.
4. How can I RSVP for the event?
- You can RSVP through the dedicated RSVP form on the site.RSVP Form.
- You can chat to one of the event management team via WhatsApp ON +447911750454.
- Couples are required to both RSVP individually.
5. Can I come alone?
- Yes, you are welcome.
6. What does it mean if I do not RSVP?
- It will mean that you are not able to attend the celebrations and you will not be catered for.
7. What is the event schedule?
- The event spans from November 29 to December 1, 2024.
- There are 2 main events lined up, An 80s/90s themed Disco Party on Friday 29Nov & a Formal Dinner Dance on Saturday 30Nov. Both events will start at 6pm and end at 12midnight.
- There will be other activities lined up in-between and a more detailed program will be provided on the days leading to the celebrations. Guests are encouraged to arrive by 2pm on Friday 29Nov.
8. Can I attend only one day?
- Yes you may. On your RSVP Indicate which day/event you will be attending.
9. Can I get my make-up done at the venue?
- Yes, there are 3 recommended artists that you may individually arrange with. Their details are as follows;

10. What activities can I do and the cost?
- (All activities will be done on Saturday 30Nov between 10am to 4pm)
- The following are charged activities offered from Cathedral Peak Hotel;
- 9-hole golf course with alternate tees for an 18-hole game
- Guided quad bike trails
- Helicopter rides
- Horse rides
- Trout fishing
- The Wellness Centre
- All guests will be required to pay for their chosen activities
- The paid activities are offered in various packages and once you indicate which activities you are interested in on your RSVP form or any other contact-us platform, an agent will be in touch to provide further assistance and book you.

11. How do I book accommodation?
- This is for those whose invitation requests that they book accommodation.
- If your invitation does not request you to book accommodation, your accommodation has been catered for, and you will be given check-in details closer to the celebrations.
- It is recommended to stay at the venue which is Cathedral Peak Hotel. The hotel has provided all Zhowela@40 guests with a discount from R2195 per person per night to R1675 per person per night (all meals + snacks included). To get this discount please book via the email events@cathedralpeak.co.za and quote the discount code zhowela@40 along with your requirements.
- The next recommended place to stay is Didima Resort, which is within the same reserve and is only 3km or 8 minutes drive away from Cathedral Peak Hotel. This resort offers chalets at R890 per person per night (bed & breakfast). It can be booked via reservations@amatikulu.com.
- If you have indicated on your RSVP that you need assistance with accommodation, an agent from Cathedral Peak and Didima will get in touch with you to finalize your booking.

12. Will there be alcohol?
- Yes, a cash bar will be available throughout the celebrations. i.e every guest will be required to run their own tab and pay for their own drinks.
13. Can I carry my own drinks?
- No, drinks from outside are not permitted into Cathedral Peak.(There is no corkage option for external drinks).
14. Will there be food?
- Yes, all 3 meals per day + snacks in-between, will be provided for guests staying at Cathedral.
- None Cathedral guests will be provided with meals at the two events i.e the Braai on Disco Night and the Dinner on Formal Night.
15. Special Dietary Requirements?
- Guests with special and specific diets will be catered for.

16. Are kids allowed?
- It is requested not to bring kids. In a case where there is no other option it is advised that you arrange your own baby sitting as kids will not be allowed into the main events.
- The catered accommodation does not include kids and the additional cost will be on the guest.
